Good afternoon blogers, I was thinking about the story and I found that I have a no idea why the William wrote this play so a realized to find some interesting informations about the author ( I know you read it in my first article) but I mean detailed information about where, for who he was written atc. Specifically I want to find why he realized to wrote this play what was the reason to do it.
William Shakespeare wwas the greatest author of renaissance. His plays are whole secular and withnout the religious ideas, for his plays are typicall blankvers. The critical point is the style of plays but also that actors are not as mediaval as was in plays of other writers. In Shakespeares plays are woman as emancipate person that can oppose man and have own idea. The woman also were honest, proud and had a charm. This was not frequent in their time and the author have to have courage and do not be afraid of breaking the convention. His advantage was that he was under rule of very inteligent, modern, energetic and educated queen Elizabeth I.
As I sad he worked in London as a writer and acteur under the rule of Elizabeth I.He had an access to London layers society and court of the queen (1533 - 1603) where his work were played. He was a part-owner and dramatist of great theatre company which take place in arena called " The Globe ". In year 1613 arena burned down and his dramatics career was done.
As I mention in my previous paragraph he wrote under queen and writers have to wrote some plays for the queen or for the nobles. It was not only that they gived him money and he wrote whatever he want. They have to keep the wishes of their " employer ". And this belong to one of the hypothesis that the Midsummer Nights dream was written for the queen to celebrate the feast day of St. John. Another possibility is that the play might have been written for an aristocratic wedding (for example that of Elizabeth Carey, Lady Berkeley). It is not clear for you ?? ok imagine typical czech wedding, we have there food, photograph, some traditions and the most important we have there some Dj or live band and in their time the play was for amusement instead of the band. When I am thinking about it it was better than today because people can take cultural experience on the other hand I can not imagine on todays wedding to play theatre perfomance.
It is unknown exactly when was a Midsummer Nights Dream first performed or written but we have some references that it is dated 1594 or 1596. There is no concrete evidence exists to support either theory. One thing is right that the play would have been performed at The Theatre ( an Elizabethan playhouse located in Shoreditch ) and later the whole over the world.
