In the Midsummer Night Dream it is hard to say who is the
bad and the good person. Yes we can but it is not easy how it looks like. For
example Hermies father… he is totaly against the mariage of the Hermie and
Lysander but there he is ok with this. Maybe the best person is the the Oberon
the king of the mystical people. He is in a small war with the queen but he did
not do enything bad to her. Another similar person is a Puck that makes a big
troubles to the pairs in love but he do not do it because he want he just only
mixed it by accident. In the story we can find all people doing things good and
bad…. It is only about us …how we can see the problems and how we like the
concrete pepole. Yes I understand that
the Pucks mistake involve the whole story and without it there would be any
plot. But this is the point that every
story have to have the bad and good person and without it will be boring, long
play.

my opinion
By now I am done with the book …and I have to say that was
were useful for me from the side that I revise the Shakespeare for the maturita
and I analyse this wokr and the period in which was the Shakespeare written.
This book is very good beause they clearly show us how can
be hard for woman live in the past period and the deferences between the
magical world and the „normal“ world.I like it but can be a bit shorter and
easier for the readers in this case is better to watch also the film. My
favourite things on this film was the background, the way how he destribe the
forest and the mythological person and the fact that the plot of the play is
near to the our everyday life. They have to solve the problems with love atc
and the small „ war „ between the Oberon and the queen of the nymphs.
Here I have some interesting quotes: “My heart is true as
steel“. This said Helena to express the strong and deep love to Demetrius. It means
that the steel is strong and hard as her love to Demetrius or maybe that his
heart is not in love with Helena and this express the cold of the steel.
„ So we grew
together, like to a double cherry, seeming parted, but yet an union in partition;two
lovely berries moulded on one stem; So, with two seeming bodies, but one heart“.
This is description how deep friends were the Hermie and
Helena before the problems with the man. This show us that the friendship is
something more and I like it also because it belong to our everyday problems.
This show us that maybe the girl wants to have it back like this but is it very
hard because they are both in love. The main problem is that the Helena is in
love with Demetrie who wants to be with Hermie but she doesnt want.
„But earthlier happy is the rose distilled than that which
withering on the virgin thorn Grows, lives, and dies in single blessedness“ .
This quote is from the beggining when the father of Hermie
goes to the head of the city to solve their problem. And by this he wants to
tell her that it is better to be married than be single. But he means that
better is the unhappy mariage then be alone. It is hard to do it but I
understand that in their time is must be like this but for me is totaly
nonacceptable.
„The course of true love never did run smooth.“
This is the passage when the Lysander the klovers of Hermie
is speaking to her and he wants to describe that they are not only one lovers
who has the problems.
If you do not have idea about this book you can learn something
from this quotes about it. The language is very extensive the author describe
it very minutely. And the main goals can be readable from the quotes. The book
gives me different view on the problems that is not important to solve the
trivial problems but the real ones.
The film
Hello dear readers, during searching more informartions
about my book I found also movie adaptation of A Midsummer Night´s Dream. There
were more works than one also one of them was from czech director but this
adaptation used the marionettes. Yes you are right I am not kidding. But
imagine it can be very nice to do it by diferent way, but have to be very hard
to play and especially the Shakespeare plays.
I decided to download the movie from 1999 there were also
the film from 1935 but this do not interests me because the film was black and
white and the actors were unknown for me . From my opinion the adaptation of
the book was very successful adn the director exactly catch the main poin of
the story. It takes place in forest as in the book and the story is almost the
same or very neer to the book. The film version
is better to recognised the person because we can see it as a real person not
only imagination. And as you know the story can be for someone a bit difficult
but by this way they made it easier.
In my opinion the best way is to read a book and then watch
a film to make sure your thinks . In many films the plot from the book is
different than book but here it is near the plot. They used special effects to
show us the mystical nymphs and have very nice background the forest where the
whole play takes place. And also the cast of famous actors make it very
interesting for the audience because when you like some actor you want to see him
and maybe this can make Shakespeare more favourite for more people.

Critism
When the writter wrote the book he
has to accept the criticism. The important part is that people are the main
critics of the work because they read it and make own opinion sometimes they
are more or less relevant. On the other hand we have a special critics and they
can make an opinion of people depend on what they wrote about the book. In past
the main critics were ruler or the church they can prohobited the book bec ause
they just do not like it. Luckily is not Shakespeares case. It is hard to find some relevant criticism about
the Shakespeare because he lived far away and todays critics do not really know
the conditions when he was writing. But they can estimate it and wrote it but
it is also hard when the writter is dead and can not response it.
I found many criticisms… but they are not
really critical but a bit more editing or describing diferences atc. Mr. Bonnard´s words about the A Midsummer
Night's Dream: the main thesis is that two totally different worlds, the
fantasy full of nymphs and goods and the normal worldry life mentioned in this
play exist diverse from each other and those two worlds never meet and put together in one world. The
critics shows that inhabitant the fantasy world are really ethereal and
mystical creatures in the meaning that they are missing the real feeling and
intellingence. But this world is not less important then the normal, Bonnard
argues that the mystical world influence the whole area of normal life. Although
they are different in many things and they never meet each other they influence each other without knowing of
the other world. In Mr. Bonnards words „The
inhabitants of the fairy world, the critic explains, are indeed ethereal in the
sense that they lack true feelings and intelligence.“ He means that they are not dangerous but they
do not have real feeling as our main characters, they do not have real problems
they have their own world. They do not think about the consequences for example
when the servant of the good use the flower to make Helena happier and fell in
love with Demetrius. „And yonder shines Aurora's harbinger. At whose approach,
ghosts, wandering here and there.Troop home to churchyards.“ This quote told Puck to the Oberon that his
work about the lovers Hermie, Lysander and Helena, Demetrie it is almost done.
This express that the mystics world everything see on easy way there is not
problem. Means they they do not have everyday problems like people and it
support the quote from Bonnards critics that the fairy world have a lack of
true feeling and inteligence. In many stories with a fairy world we can find that the person do not have real view on the world everything it is easy for them, they use the magic stick and everything what you want it is possible.
In conclusion Mr. Bonnards critics is truly true. He has a good describing of fairy person and in context of the book they are really lack true feelings and inteligence but they are necessary for the normal world. They are so much different but influence each other too much to condemn the mystical one.
Motivation
Good afternoon blogers, I was thinking about the story and I found that I have a no idea why the William wrote this play so a realized to find some interesting informations about the author ( I know you read it in my first article) but I mean detailed information about where, for who he was written atc. Specifically I want to find why he realized to wrote this play what was the reason to do it.
William Shakespeare wwas the greatest author of renaissance. His plays are whole secular and withnout the religious ideas, for his plays are typicall blankvers. The critical point is the style of plays but also that actors are not as mediaval as was in plays of other writers. In Shakespeares plays are woman as emancipate person that can oppose man and have own idea. The woman also were honest, proud and had a charm. This was not frequent in their time and the author have to have courage and do not be afraid of breaking the convention. His advantage was that he was under rule of very inteligent, modern, energetic and educated queen Elizabeth I.
As I sad he worked in London as a writer and acteur under the rule of Elizabeth I.He had an access to London layers society and court of the queen (1533 - 1603) where his work were played. He was a part-owner and dramatist of great theatre company which take place in arena called " The Globe ". In year 1613 arena burned down and his dramatics career was done.
As I mention in my previous paragraph he wrote under queen and writers have to wrote some plays for the queen or for the nobles. It was not only that they gived him money and he wrote whatever he want. They have to keep the wishes of their " employer ". And this belong to one of the hypothesis that the Midsummer Nights dream was written for the queen to celebrate the feast day of St. John. Another possibility is that the play might have been written for an aristocratic wedding (for example that of Elizabeth Carey, Lady Berkeley). It is not clear for you ?? ok imagine typical czech wedding, we have there food, photograph, some traditions and the most important we have there some Dj or live band and in their time the play was for amusement instead of the band. When I am thinking about it it was better than today because people can take cultural experience on the other hand I can not imagine on todays wedding to play theatre perfomance.
It is unknown exactly when was a Midsummer Nights Dream first performed or written but we have some references that it is dated 1594 or 1596. There is no concrete evidence exists to support either theory. One thing is right that the play would have been performed at The Theatre ( an Elizabethan playhouse located in Shoreditch ) and later the whole over the world.

Trailer 2
In comparison I have here the much younger trailer from year 1999. We can see there many changes which starts from the technical part, the film has a colours the sound
and music have a better quality. Also the acters are different modern, the background is upgrade the use modern things, clothes and the dictionary of the acters are
different. As we know it is 64 years difference and this is a many years to have time to change, modern the technologies, methods, to improve the whole concept about
the films. And as I put the trailer from 1935 here I have the video from year 1999. You can compare it and make a picture about changes.

Ok are you thinking what this play wants to tell us ?? I
will try it briefly explain to you ...
The play show us many view and opinions to the one thing,
for example on love or also on concrete thing. the book is not giving us any
advice as was normal in Ancient plays.... they are do not tell us which opinion is good or
bad ... but as I sad for third time the big importance is on the individual
thinking of people. It is an excellent renesance comedy of changes and making things
different also about how it is hard to be good, how it is nice to be an actor.
How it is magic be in love and be love of anybody. It has a three plot line ( lovers,
actors and goods in little war). Instead of tragicall and magical situations
there is a lot of a humor of every branch. Using language of nobles but also of
workers there is a contrast between the
language both of them, between the dream and reallity and theatre play, feeling and sence, chaos and line. we can also watch on this
as a big magical way to celebrate the Midsummer Night when the world will be
shake in base to have stronger position.
Ok....are you curious what will happend there ??? I am !!!
but it is hard to say because the characters are really hard readable...soo
maybe Hermie will stay with Lysander or not ... what we know now the comlicated plot whe
two guys love one girl. The father of the girl do not want to give her to
Lysandr and he rather will saw her dead then with Lysandr.Another girl Helena love guy but
he does not ... This is one sort of a problems and it can not be easy so with
this are mixed problems of two goods. Yes I know ... there are many things to
remember who is who and who has problem with who ... But stay calm this is only
1/3 of book. If you will survive till end you can say that you are so good :) for example
young elf that is helper of Oberon and makes all the troubles is important
person. Imagine that withnout himthere is no problem with changing the partners and lovers.
But this is the person who gives the book juice. Without him will be boring
story about father that do not want to give her doughter to her boyfriend. It is my opinion
so you can watch on this different way, for example for you is the person who
gives the juice the Oberon or Hermie. All the time the same problem .... it is
on people how they feel it :) isn´t it true ? :)
As we now the play
takes place in the period of renesance. During this enesance period were found
new things... for example antropocentrism which contain to put stress on human as a person and the life. Individualism is
another one and is about making person more complicated. The main thing is the
comeback to the nature which was inspired by Antique. Second one is using problems
from everyday life. All of those we can find in this play. For example both of
the story is in the forest
and there are magical things like nymphs atc. Soo this is a
example of using nature elements. The plot is about love, and this belong to
the everyday life in my opinion. And the character Theseus is good example of
individualism because he want to solve the problems by different way. So he has
think about himself and make desicions to be like this.
From one side it is impossible to associate this play with
todays world, maybe with children world. But personally I do not know person
that saw a nymphs or elphs in last few weeks. Also I cant imagine that can take plays in
forest.... I do not know any forest like this in real life ( yes we have but
they are demage or destroy but people that want money and money and nothing else) and I
cant imagine in this period to stay in forest during night ... I will be really
scared that someone can stole me or hunt me :) ... ok I know i have big imagination...lets
go back to plot....So we can not put it into real life because of this
mysterious things.
As I sad the Renesance is about individualism and put stress
on individual thinking ( for example when Hermie decided to leave with
Lysander). And in our quick period is this very important .... we do not have enought
time for everything we should be ready in few moments and withnout individual
thinking that was found many years ago we will be lost in our time.people are different,
good, better, bad... this will be same in every age. Another thing is the love plot ... problems with love has
averyone who I know but as I sa before we do not have time to deal with it like
in Shakespeare book.
Soo from one view it can not be relevant but when we look at it detaily we can find many things. It is only about the person that it is reading. Everything is about the person.
So in general A Midsummer Night Dream is a typical play
belongs to Renesance period.
Ok lets put a question .... Can this story by relate to
todays world ?? can be relevant ??? Soo from one view it can not be relevant but when we look at it detaily we can find many things. It is only about the person that it is reading. Everything is about the person.
Hi everybody, in my first article you can found who was W.
Shakespeare and a bit of informations about the play. And now you will learn something about the characters in detail. Soo
enjoy my article and I hope you will be a bit smarter when this will be done:) ... We can say that play is a bit more
complicated well ... very complicated ...we found there a lot of names and characters that make me confused because I never
know who is who ... OK never mind maybe you are better than me on this. Well the main characters are Hermie - very pretty
young woman, she is also impulsive, courageous and also self-confident, her father is Eugeus, she loves Lysandr but also Demetrius
wants her heart, but unfortunatelly he want be with Lysandr... why ? you will
see:)But she can be
a bit bad and unfriendly after things which happend.
Lysander - the man that loves Hermie, he has an great idea
to go away from Athens. His character is faithfull and courageous. If you fill
read the book you can find a small change from faithfull person to less faithfull....
but this is because of big mistake so do not make bad opinion about him :) we
should have more pairs like Lysander and Hermie are :)
Helena - pretty and young as well as Hermie is, she
unfortunatelly he loves Demetrius ( personally experience with boy like
Demetrius but this belong to another blogmaybe :) .. )She doesn´t have enought self-respect she
thinks that is not as pretty as Hermie. Under the weight of love to Demetrius
make crazy things. All the time she is pursue him in hope that Demetrius will love her also.
She is blind because of love.
Demetrius - man that Hermies father wants to have marriage
with. He is not as gentleman as Lysander is. Making fun of Helena. He wants
Hermie unconditionally, does not take care what Hermie wants he can see only him so we
can tell Demetrie is very selfish, egoistic man.
Theseus - the head of Athens. His character is one of the
most realistic person in this play, showing the majority and wisdom. He want to
solve the problems by nice way and do not want to be bad. And I can not forget to
say that he loves Hipolyta.
Titanie - the head of the nymphs. We can found there a
contrast between Greek goddness of chastity and obscene scenes with the
"donkey". She is all the time making fun of Oberon and she is in we can say small war with
him.
Oberon - The head of the nymphs, arguing with Titanie, but
he is not bad person. He wants to help sad Helena but make a problem for
Hermia. His character is projection of a higher power in nature.
Puk - Person that is all the time making fun af something,
manipulate with others destiny and he is selfish ... As a person he is not bad
but make a lots of problems.
a bit bad and unfriendly after things which happend.
Are you ok or a bit confused as I was when i was reading
this book for first time ... ok I understand i will make a sumarize ..... in general the main problem is that Lysander and Demetrius
both loves Hermie, but Hermie loves only Lysander another problem is that
Hermies father wants to have Demetrius as Hermies husband. They go out from Athens and in
forest they mixed to another problem between Titanie and Oberon. But as it is
normal in this period the end of the story
is happy. Also i can not forgot to say that for the story are very important
the charecters because they make the play... the play is based on how people react
in different situations, on their personality.
William is showing to us how people can be and how people
from different classes are. in summarize
this play is about people and their personality.středa 28. března 2012
Hello my quests !!!
Hello dear blogers, welcome to my blog which is focused on the play A Midsummer Night's Dream written by popullar author William Shakespeare. You may know him at least from the school and because of him famous sentence from another play Romeo and Juliet. William Shakespeare born 1564 and he was an important English poet and dramatist and his plays were translated to many other languages than english. There are some sources that under name Shakespeare was also different author than him. So autorship of some his plays is not absolute. William has a unique imagination, to his character he put everyday problems so he is near people they can understand him. He also wrote many poems but most of them were for gentlemans... lucky guys:)
A Midsummer Night´s Dream is comedy and was written between years 1590 and 1596 we do not know exactly when. Play is situated into Ancient Athens but it is guide his born land, popular myth and superstitions. Shakespeare put together two totally different classes, the class of the nobles, rich people, mysterious world of nymph and the hard word of workman which was not normal for his period. We can also find the characteristics of the people also very big progress.Whole play goes with a optimistic humor which consider to the Renaissance. In this play two old traditions were put together and it was a Midsummer Day which is celebrated on 24.6. and the 1st May ( as we know 1st May is love time).
